邓晓华教授主要从事空间物理卫星观测和计算机数值研究,现为欧洲空间局CLUSTER飞船计划和我国“双星计划”合作科学家。 1992年获中国科学技术大学亿利达青年教师奖; 1998年获武汉大学首届珞珈青年赤子优秀奖; 1999年入选“湖北省跨世纪学术带头人”;2001 年获国家教委优秀教师计划资助,2002年被批准为长江学者特聘教授。 邓晓华教授近几年来在空间物理、太阳物理、实验和理论等离 子体物理研究等方面取得了创造性的成果,首次在日地空间发现无碰撞磁场重联的观测证据。论文在Nature发表后,受到了国际学术的广泛重视和引起强烈反响。Nature 和Science 分别发表专门文章对此工作进行评论,世界空间物理泰斗、太阳风的发现者E.N.Parker教授亲笔来信表示祝贺和赞赏。Nature专文评论文章和Nature评审人认为该研究涉及困扰天体物理、空间物理和等离子体物理近半个世纪的有关磁能释放机制的重大难题,开辟了磁场重联研究新领域,对推动磁场重联研究和解释宇宙空间中的快速爆发现象具有极其重要意义。
